East European University (EEU) celebrated a significant academic achievement as doctoral candidate Tariel Elashvili successfully defended her PhD dissertation at the Faculty of Education Sciences on July 27.

A candidate in the English-language PhD Program in Education Sciences, Tariel presented her dissertation titled "Assessing the Effectiveness of Interactive Simulation-Based Learning vs. Traditional Methods on Postgraduate Students’ Learning Outcomes from Directive to Student-Centred Teaching Roles." The research examined the impact of interactive simulation-based learning compared to traditional teaching methods in enhancing postgraduate students' learning outcomes.

The dissertation was completed under the supervision of Emeritus Professor Paul Gibbs. During the public defense, Tariel presented her research findings, followed by an academic discussion with the dissertation committee.

The committee commended the quality of the research and recognized its practical significance. The dissertation also received positive evaluations from two international reviewers.

The defense was attended by EEU's academic and administrative staff, master's and doctoral students from the Faculty of Education Sciences, and other invited guests.
